The Allen New Church Development of Grace Presbytery began meeting in July, 1983. The first worship service was held in the Allen Child Development Center on Oct. 2, 1983. The First Presbyterian Church of Allen was officially chartered at Roundtree Elementary school in Allen on Pentecost Sunday, June 10, 1984. Sixty-nine charter members, together with their children, signed the charter roll. Nine elders were elected, ordained and installed. The organizing Minister, Dr. Robert H. Bullock, Jr., was elected and installed as pastor.
The congregation began worshipping in Boyd Elementary school in September, 1984. By year-end, the congregation had 94 members on the active roll and 125 members by the end of August, 1985. |

Our Buildings |

| |
| In November of 1985, the architects completed a master plan for the church plat with drawings for the first phase. In moving forward with plans to build in 1987, the title was found to have deed restrictions. New land was acquired on August 11, 1989, through the assistance of Grace Presbytery and a revised architectural plan was drafted. Ground was broken almost immediately and the first phase was built. The congregation moved into two buildings in February, 1990. A small section of additional land adjacent to the church's south boundary was purchased in the summer of 1999. New architectural plans were developed with a Quick Start construction that included joining the two existing buildings (which creates a larger sanctuary) and modifying existing space. |
