First Presbyterian Church of Allen has two special offerings each year in which the funds received leave our church to support causes world wide.

One Great Hour of Sharing – The funds collected are split.  Thirty-six percent of undesignated One Great Hour of Sharing gifts go to the Presbyterian Hunger Program, while the Self-Development of People and Presbyterian Disaster Assistance each receive 32 percent.  This offering is usually received on Palm Sunday and/or Easter Sunday.

Christmas Joy Offering – This is a special offering designated by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) to provide congregations direct ways of supporting specific causes that help those in need.  Fifty percent of the receipts are distributed to the Board of Pensions for assistance programs that provide support to retired and active church workers and their spouses and families.  The other fifty percent supports Presbyterian-related racial ethnic education through the General Assembly Mission Council.  This offering is usually received the Sunday before Christmas and/or on Christmas Eve.
